Description

Once Alexandre Dumas was travelling throughout Russia during several months. He also visited the Caucasian republics: Georgia, Azerbaijan and Armenia. Later Dumas wrote a book in which he told about his trip, described the places he visited and the people he met. We proposed Gerard Depardieu to make a part of the way once made by Dumas in Azerbaijan. The actor recites the fragments from the writer’s book and compares the same places after 150 years passed since Dumas’ trip.

Plot

One can observe Azerbaijan people, culture and customs through the prism of Depardieu’s perception. Making the same way as Alexandre Dumas many years ago, the spectator understands why the writer was so fascinated by this region.  Gerard Depardieu experiences the same things as Alexandre Dumas in in 1858: he meets wonderful people, discovers new places…
