Our documentary « Aral, facing the departure of the sea » will focus on the way Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan cope with the Aral Sea disaster on a daily basis. In 50 years, these two countries had lost 75% of the sea surface shared by them. These 75% of the natural water reservoir once provided the local population with food and work and participated in biodiversity preservation and the softening of the local climate. This documentary will depict the efforts deployed by the authorities, international organizations and volunteers for restoring a part of the Aral, controlling or reducing its salinity as well as redeveloping the local infrastructure.
